The Definitions Of Obesity

Salam and Hi!

How is life, everyone?
Hope you guys are doing just fine.
For this post,we would like to brief about what is obesity.

According to Michael D. Myers,a practicing physician in Cypress,California (U.S) from http://www.weight.com/definition.asp,
obesity is an excess of body fat that frequently results in a significant impairment of health.

Referring to World Health Organization website http://www.who.int/en/,
overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health.

Based on http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/obesity/DS00314,
obesity is defined as having an excessive amount of body fat. Obesity is more than just a cosmetic concern, though. It increases your risk of diseases and health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

According to http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/123702-overview,
obesity involves BMIs greater than the 85th (commonly used to define overweight) or the 95th (commonly used to define obesity) percentile, respectively, for age-matched and sex-matched control subjects.

Meanwhile,referring to http://www.qof.ic.nhs.uk/glossary.asp,

obesity occurs when a person puts on weight to the extent that it seriously endangers health. It is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) that is greater than or equal to 30. In the QOF obesity prevalence is in respect of patients aged 16 and over.

Based on http://sportsmedicine.about.com,
obesity occurs when a person has too much body fat. Obesity is not the same as being overweight; a person is considered obese when they weigh 20% or more of the maximum desirable weight for their height.
